Highlights of 2009

2009 was probably the most eventful, fun, and exciting year of my life. (Here are the highlights of 2009, in order starting from January)
My first highlight was China. It was the first year I did the countdown in China. It wasn't the same because a) all the live shows of New Year Eve's concerts in China were in Chinese (so I only understood half of what they were saying), and there were singers that I've never heard of before. b)The fireworks and everything didn't seem very enthusiastic and "extravaganza-ish" c) I had a fever during that week. Despite all that, it was memorable because we spent it with our ENTIRE. family. (all my grandparents and aunts and uncles)
My second highlight was probably Kearney. Not much to say, but it was fun, again, despite the fact that I got a fever the night we arrived. Believe it or not, that was my first time away from home. =D (I liked the freedom) x]
Another highlight was definitely Houston. I won't give the story again, considering how you guy are probably tired of my Houston stories. Besides, I gave a very lengthy recount of it. (scroll to the bottom of my blog)
My fourth highlight wasn't very.. err.. fun. EQAO. Yea. Torture. xP However, I did survive 1 and a half week of constant writing, reading, and... math-ing? Let see.. oh! My last day at Kennedy Public School was quite.. uhm..emotional :( I went to school there since JK kindergarten, and was very connected to everyone there. Also, me and Phoebe were the only people leaving for extended french (KPS went up to grade 8)
During the summer, I went to the USA, which is somewhere I don't go very often. It wasn't the best trip i guess... I went with some Chinese tour, and sorry New York and everywhere else in the US, but I advise people who are thinking about eating Chinese food in America: DON'T. Maybe it was just the ones we went to, but IT WAS DISGUSTING. Yea. It really was. Well other than the bad food, we went to NYC, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a few other places which I forgot where. It was really fun and we went for 4 days. OH I LOVED Times Square and on the last day, we went to and outlet mall and we only had 45 minutes. The great thing about the short time limit was that my parents didn't have to consider whether or not to let my buy this and that. We just grabbed the stuff we wanted and quickly paid for it. It was AWESOME. <3>
My last highlight of 2009 was my first day of middle school at SAM. I remember that I was terrified of many things. I was scared that me and Phoebe wouldn't find any friends, scared that I might get bullied by grade 8's, scared that the teachers might hate me, and scared that I would totally humiliate myself. Luckily, everything went pretty well. We made one or two friends on the first day, didn't get bullied, the teachers seemed to be okay with me, and I didn't humiliate myself THAT much to the point where i had to put a paper bag on my head. =D
So school got better and more fun.. and 2009 ended with a great big, "HAPPY NEW YEAR!"
